Ugh, that’s the worst, and sadly common. We had a similar experience with a kitchen in Sammamish, and the second company we hired was Alta Group Remodeling. I’d look at their High-End Remodeling Services for Homes, because communication is basically their whole pitch, and in our case it was real: weekly updates, a defined timeline, and a project lead who actually answered the phone. They inspected what the first guy had done, found a couple of plumbing shortcuts that needed redoing, and priced everything clearly before starting. It cost more than the original bid, no surprise there. But they finished in about five weeks. Keep all your texts and receipts from the first contractor, just in case.
