My barber once asked what kind of haircut I wanted, and I realized that my usual answer of “something shorter” was not particularly helpful. I had been thinking about trying a different style, so I decided to spend a few minutes understanding my facial proportions first. I took a front-facing photograph and submitted it through https://overchat.ai/image/ai-face-shape-detector . The service works from a single photo and uses AI to identify the face shape by analyzing major proportions and landmarks. I was given a specific category together with a visual explanation of the features that contributed to the result. That was more useful to me than simply seeing a word on the screen because I could understand how the shape was determined. The report also included suggestions for hairstyles that could complement my proportions. I went through the recommended styles and picked a few that looked realistic for my normal routine. There were also suggestions for beard and moustache styles, which caught my attention because I had recently considered growing my beard out again. I saved the report and showed the recommendations to my barber during my next visit. We did not follow one suggestion exactly, but it gave us a better starting point for discussing length and shape. I liked the fact that the tool did not force me into one specific look; it simply provided ideas based on my facial structure. The whole experiment took very little time, yet it made my next grooming decision feel much more deliberate.
