    AMR in Nigeria refers to the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance where bacteria and other microbes become resistant to medicines used to treat infections. Factors such as misuse of antibiotics, self-medication, limited diagnostic facilities, and weak regulation contribute to the spread of resistant infections. This issue affects treatment effectiveness, increases healthcare costs, and makes disease control more difficult across communities and healthcare systems in Nigeria.
