The Nigerian beauty scene is buzzing at the moment with new brands springing up by the day. New products are churned out daily, ranging from skincare products, haircare products, makeup products, the list is endless. The desire for people to look flawless has contributed to this surge in beauty businesses.

Celebrities and influencers are not left out as they use their fame and social media following to good use by producing beauty products that can be purchased by their followers. This post will be a spotlight on some of the Nigerian celebrities/influencers with beauty brands.

Below (in no particular) are five celebrities/influencers with thriving beauty brands.

1. Toyin Abraham is a Nollywood actress that needs no introduction. After enjoying a successful acting career, she ventured into the beauty business in 2018 by launching a makeup line, called BodyTalk By Toyin. Her line initially started with lip products but later expanded to include mascara, eyeshadows and eyeliner. More recently she has added scents to her collection.

2. Adunni Ade is another successful Nollywood actress and model that has ventured into the beauty industry. In 2019, she launched a skincare line called Skin by Faye. According to her description, her product line is organic and doesn’t have any harsh chemicals. Products in her skincare line include body scrub, black soap body wash, body butter, body oil, face scrub, black soap face cleanser, face oil.

3. Lola OJ is a creative entrepreneur and a media influencer with a massive following on social media. In 2017, she launched a skincare line called Coco Skincare with her first product, Coco Hydrating Face Cream. She since expanded by adding other products such as their Coco Blemish Control Soap and Coco Honey Black Soap.

4. Uriel Oputa is a music artiste and also an ex Big Brother Nigeria housemate. Her social media following is massive, and as a business-savvy lady, she started her Wigs By Uriel line after leaving the Big Brother house in 2017. She later launched a haircare product called Ogologo Serum, which promises to promote hair growth.

Her most recent (which she’ll be releasing soon) is Ude by Uriel, a skincare line. According to her, products in her range will include soap, body butter, scrub and oil.

5. Ifueneda is a Nollywood actress and also an ex Big Brother Nigeria housemate. She has beautiful natural hair and is a proud naturalista, which is why it wasn’t a surprise when her foray into the beauty industry gave birth to a haircare line called ‘beautIFU ENNADA’ (a twist of her name). She launched her brand in 2018 with two products: leave-in-conditioner and growth oil. Her product range has since grown to include shampoo.
